Brood & Plank | cutting boards

In Friesland they still use traditional methods to make the most amazing cutting boards and chopping blocks of wild and rugged French Oak.
These boards fit in any kitchen and can be used for literally every occasion. Boards with an authentic character and a real wow factor. Present the finest appetizers and dishes on these boards and friends and family will be impressed. The collection is constantly expanding. All boards are genuinely handmade piece by piece - sanded and oiled with the “handmade in Friesland” branding. A unique product that requires a little patience sometimes before you’ll have it in your possession.

Want to know more about Brood & Plank? Read the brands interview with founder Serge Veenmal.

Maintenance
The boards are made of mostly french oak. They’ve been treated with grape seed oil twice, but it is recommended to repeat this an extra time. Rub the grape seed oil in with a cotton cloth and let it rest until the oil has withdrawn properly. Any excess oil can be rubbed off and the board is ready for use. When used intensively, it is wise to lubricate the board periodically using this grape seed oil. Do not use olive oil for this process. If you want to clean the board do it with warm and soapy water, then rinse thoroughly under running water. Never put the board in the dishwasher or behind a stove as the board will warp.
